Rehabilitation

Individuals in rehabilitation or post rehabilitation are more open to suggestions of change.  Physical therapists complain about how many of their patients return in six months to a year with the same problems or a host of new ailments. Healthcare workers in rehabilitation need a more powerful arsenal for their toolbox, and techniques to improve their own health.  Programming which creates community, enhances self-love and empowers the individual with self-preservation tools is needed to support and sustain the beneficial work of rehabilitation in Nursing Homes and Hospitals. Yomenco is physical therapy and then some.  It is group physical therapy, group psychological therapy and spiritual, emotive, passionate and fun.

Because we work with a group the program is also cost-effective and creates a sense of community. Yomenco is effective because it honors the whole being, body mind spirit in the healing process.  We honor science and evolution by awareness of our evolutionary journey and how our response to stress allowed us to evolve, but now threatens our healthy aging.  Awareness of evolution, and techniques to control breathing and responses to stress have a very powerful effect on the immune system functioning and the psychology of the individual.  Becoming a master of oneself instead of a prisoner of emotions is very empowering and liberating.  Using spiritual tools such as meditation helps seniors and elders to realize they are not they’re thoughts.

This helps empower them to reject unhealthy lifestyle choices.  Such spiritual practice helps overcome fear associated with death and other pivotal life changes. The program is crafted to address the needs of those in Rehabilitation.

We focus on the following areas: Cancer, Parkinsons, Alzheimers & Dementia, Hypertension, Stroke, Heart Disease, Spinal, MS and many other health challenges. The class is forty five minutes long and consists of 32 minutes of Yoga/Tai chi body movement and awareness, five minutes on breathing awareness, five minutes on balance enhancement, 8 minutes on meditation and 5 minutes on lifestyle coaching.  We focus on strengthening the spine, improving breathing, structured movement, body awareness and stress management and balance.
